Mullein

Also known as Verbascum thapsus

Used traditionally as an expectorant, Mullein also contains compounds scientifically researched to soothe inflammation in the respiratory tract and demonstrated antimicrobial activity against certain respiratory pathogens in laboratory studies. Mullein is a native of Europe and Western Asia but is now found commonly throughout North America, Australia and New Zealand where it grows as a weed.
