Elecampane

Also known as Inula helenium

A wonderful herb for respiratory health, especially a productive cough where it thins and loosens excess mucus in the lungs and airways. It also acts as an expectorant, to support the expulsion of that excess mucus from the lungs, making it easy to breathe. Elecampane contains compounds with antimicrobial properties, which contribute to its traditional use in supporting respiratory illness. The high level of mucilage in this herb is also soothing for the lining of the lungs.
